1. COMPLETE ALL TEAM PAPERWORK

Team members and coaches must provide proof of a FIRST consent and release (electronic or paper form) before participating in any FLL event. Find details about ‘Team Paperwork’ on the Resources page. Coaches must use the team dashboard at firstinspires.org to invite parents to electronically acknowledge and submit a FLL consent and release form online. If families are unable to complete consent online, contact your Partner or Tournament Director for instructions.

 

2. REGISTER FOR A QUALIFIER

Go to East Tennessee FLL Qualifier Application page. Provide team and coach information and select the qualifier of your choice. After all the above acceptance criteria are verified, you will receive an email notification when your team has been accepted for an event. The status of a team registration can also be viewed on the Qualifiers Roster page found on the registration page of your selected event. NOTE: It takes a few days after submitting your registration for your team to show up on the roster. 

3. PAY QUALIFIER FEE

Upon receiving acceptance confirmation, pay your         registration fee either online or by mail.

The East Tennessee Regional Championship in Cookeville has a 48 team capacity limit. Teams are selected for the championship by qualifying at one of several regional qualifier tournaments. East Tennessee qualifier registration is in each event FLL Events page. The criteria below must be met before a team can be accepted for an event:

  • Two coaches must be registered, complete the Youth Protection Program, and sign the FIRST Consent & Release document. 

  • The annual FLL team registration must be paid to FIRST. 

  • The event must be open for registration. 

  • The event must still have capacity.

The FLL Events page lists all the FLL events in Tennessee. Teams must register for events in the region where the team resides. FLL teams can register to compete at any qualifier tournament they choose in their own region, but they can only compete in one qualifier event.

3. CORRECT INFO ON DASHBOARD

To ensure accurate team profile data for tournament programs, visit the Tournaments Roster on the registration page for your selected event and check your team's information.  Corrections should be made in the team's FIRST dashboard.  Updating team data to the Tennessee database is not automatic and teams should notify Cary Busby cbusby@firstpartners.org after any team profile data is changed at FIRST.

 

4. TEAM INFORMATION PAGE

To improve team recognition with the judges, teams should download the fillable Team Information form and bring three copies of this form to their judging sessions.

 

5. ROBOT DESIGN EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

To help the Robot Design judges quickly and consistently learn about your robot and the design process used, all events require a short presentation called the Robot Design Executive Summary. To help the Core Values judges learn more about your team and its unique story, all events require every team prepare a simple Core Values “tri‐fold” or poster.

IMPORTANT NOTE TO TEAMS THAT ADVANCE TO THE CHAMPIONSHIP

(Due two weeks before the Championship)

Teams that advance from a qualifying tournament will receive an invitation to the East Tennessee Championship held in Cookeville on February 10, 2024.  


TTU's policy for minors on campus requires that all team members attending the East Tennssee FLL Championship must provide additional documentation required by Tennessee Tech.​  The parents of each team member must complete the TTU Minor Participant Information and Release

Otherwise, collect a signed paper version of the FIRST consent form from all team members as soon as possible. On-paper consents are only required if on-line consent forms have not been completed.  A printed copy of the team roster from the team dashboard showing on-line consent status with copies of on-paper consent forms are acceptable documentation of consent and release.   Print and complete a registration invoice and mail it with the  registration fee and copies of all consent and release documentation to:

There will be no lunch tickets sold in advance.  However, teams can still purchase meals at the TTU cafeteria on their own.
